Talkmobile - Usability Study

Talkmobile - Usability Study

The Situation

  • The Carphonewarehouse launched its own mobile network, Talkmobile, in the summer of 2008; supported by a brand new transactional website, Talkmobile.com.
  • A national marketing campaign promoted the brand, driving large volumes of traffic to the website.
  • Sales conversion figures were much lower than Talkmobile had expected.

The Solution

  • Silverbean employed the use of analytical reporting systems and best practice usability methods to execute a usability study.
  • Key areas of the study included evaluating the effectiveness of the website as a sales channel, improving efficiency of the purchase process and establish whether the website supported users’ goals.
  • Silverbean made recommendations on the overall design, layout and information architecture to improve usability and sales conversion.

The Results

  • The Talkmobile site enjoyed a 30% increase in sales conversion within one month of Silverbean recommendations being executed.
