Advertisers will increase email marketing efforts, expert predicts

Email marketing solutions are likely to become increasingly important as advertisers recognise their benefits, it has been suggested.

Writing for DMNews, Nicholas Einstein observed a number of key trends that will emerge over the course of 2009.

He explained that email is being seen as a way not only to increase online sales, but also to build relationships with customers and promote awareness.

As such, Mr Einstein predicted that more companies will use the medium as a branding tool.

In addition, he noted that win-back campaigns may be prevalent, stating: "Marketers will better serve previous customers using tools allowing for intelligent re-marketing to inactive segments."

Earlier this month, ecommerce expert Lisa Suttora told AuctionBytes that email marketing services are key to the success of online retail.

She said those new to internet sales should build a mailing list as early as possible, as start-up companies as well as established ones can benefit from the tool.
