Christmas time 'important' for email marketers
Tuesday 20 October 2009
The Christmas season has been emphasised by an industry expert as being important for email marketers, with various ways suggested to maximise conversions through such strategies.
Writing for PromotionWorld, Diane Forster noted that E-Gift cards are a sensible approach during the holidays, as seen in 2008 when more than 20 per cent of retail emails contained such content in the three days before Christmas.
She recommended the use of animated emails - which are growing in popularity - as well as the inclusion of video in messages, a method used by Amazon for reviews of its products.
Promotional codes are also profitable as they "make [users] feel as though they are going to receive an exclusively low price".
Last month, a report by Econsultancy revealed that the email marketing industry will be valued at £292 million by the end of 2009, with many companies turning to it because it offers a high return on investment at little cost.
