Mobile site launched to help brands
Friday 23 October 2009
A new mobile internet website has been launched by the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) to help companies who intend to establish a presence in this field.
The page - www.m.iabuk.net - will showcase the latest functionalities in the area, as well as include live news feeds via RSS and will be accessible by SMS and web and mobile browsers.
Head of mobile at the IAB Jon Mew observed that the growth of mobile marketing in the advertising industry is "steadily increasing", but that it is essential the organisation offers help to businesses by "teaching [them] the basics to ensure that they're adhering to best practice".
He added that the site - which is compatible for all phones - will serve both to educate the market regarding the opportunities available in the mobile media sector and show brands "how it should be done".
Earlier this month, the IAB also introduced a search toolkit, designed to help companies optimise their use of search while generating revenue more effectively.
