Online customer engagement survey launched

Monday 05 October 2009

A customer engagement survey has been initiated by Econsultancy for the fourth year in a row.

It is intended to help marketers identify particular trends and improve their brands' consumer strategies as previous research has emphasised that, while companies are aware that such campaigns are essential, they are uncertain how to attempt them.

A full copy of the report will be published in November, looking at the ways in which prominent businesses are working on their relationships with customers, particularly in terms of using mobile technology and social media to do so.

According to Econsultancy, five per cent of companies have previously shown that they are embracing the mobile channel in their engagement strategies.

The need for industry players to use the mobile internet in their work was made clear during the Internet Advertising Bureau's mobile forum, which took place in September.

During the seminar, mobiles - in particular the iPhone - were generally thought of as the catalyst for the revolution in display advertising.
