Search engine marketing sector 'in recovery'
Wednesday 14 October 2009
The search engine marketing industry in the UK is showing signs of recovery, according to research by Efficient Frontier, with advertisers increasing their spending in this area during the third quarter after two periods of decline.
The UK Search Engine Performance Report revealed that expenditure in this form of marketing increased by ten per cent year-on-year for the sample, UTalkMarketing reports.
David Karnstedt, president and chief executive of Efficient Frontier, said: "The third quarter results and a look beyond provide some encouraging signs for the search marketing industry as well as the overall economy."
According to the publication, Efficient Frontier predicts good consumer activity to come, as well as an aggressively competitive advertising market as brands work to capture sales and interest.
Earlier this month, a report by Econsultancy and RedEye revealed that 70 per cent of companies have witnessed a yearly increase in conversion rates, with 82 per cent of agencies also seeing a rise.
