Search toolkit introduced by IAB

Thursday 15 October 2009

The Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) has brought out a new search toolkit - after three months of in-depth study - to help online publishers optimise their use of search and more effectively generate revenue and improve brand reputation.

Several opportunities for those using search were identified as a result of the organisation's research, including paid - which, it was noted, is not utilised to its full potential by many in the industry - and natural search.

Despite the fact that a lot of organisations do understand search engine optimisation (SEO), the IAB observed that some companies still have room for improvement in their strategies involving SEO.

Senior programmes manager at the firm Jack Wallington remarked that the new initiative "can help [online publishers] adapt effectively to the changing media landscape" and that "there is nothing like this available".

Earlier this month, the IAB introduced a website - Your Online Choices - directed at consumers with the aim of educating them about digital marketing.
